The IRS has updated its Where’s My Refund? tool for the 2024 filing season to provide additional information to taxpayers. The tool provides taxpayers with confirmation that the IRS has received a federal income tax return, whether a refund has been approved and the date the refund was issued for the 2021 through 2023 tax years. The updates include:
- Plain-language messages on the status of a refund
- Seamless access for users of the IRS2Go app on mobile devices
Notifications indicating that the IRS needs additional information.
